JAN McCLURE
Jan McClure was born and raised in Iowa and has lived in southwest Virginia for the past 16 years. Sewing has always been a creative outlet for her, and in recent years she has developed a passion for quilting–an art form that has flourished in the Appalachian Mountains for nearly 200 years. Jan works primarily with traditional, geometric designs and creates everything from bed quilts to quilted household items. Most of her work is machine-pieced and hand-quilted.
Jan is also a violinist who teaches and performs locally thus her nickname, “The Quiltin’ Fiddler.”
